INDEPENDENTS REMAIN UNDEFEATED AND LOOK TOWARDS ILLINI REMATCH

November 10th – Kickoff was at 3 O'Clock. Reports say this was the largest crowd to date. Moline was outweighed but they were able to hold Rock Island to just two drop kicks in the first quarter. In the second quarter MacManus punted to Anderson who fielded the punt at his one yard line where he was thrown into the end zone for a safety.  Art Salzman added a touchdown run and another was added before the half.

The second half was more of the same. The Independents scored 5 more touchdowns and converted on 3 conversion attempts. Rock Island used line plunges by Salzmann and Robb and end runs by Davenport, Dooley and MacManus to control the game. On occasion forward passes were completed to the tackles and ends to keep the West Ends off balance.

Key Players – Art Salzmann, Davenport, MacManus, Swanson, Robb, Coleman and Dooley.
