"PACKED" TEAM FROM MOLINE PRODUCES NO RESULTS

November 23rd - No Match. Rock Island kept the perfect season alive as Waddy Kuehl and Herb Sies of Davenport failed to influence the outcome.

The locals moved the ball up and down the field with ease using end runs, forward passes and even trick plays. The biggest ground gainer of the day was Ted Davenport who had several long runs and also scored a touchdown. Art Salzmann punched the ball in two times while Swanson hauled in a 30 yard pass for a score. Loyal Robb also was able to cross the goal with a run.

MacManus directed the offense with great precision and had several nice runs including a 40 yard run on a fake out of a punt formation. MacManus also completed several forward passes including a beautiful 30 yard pass to tackle Swanson for a touchdown.  Moline failed to threaten the Independent's goal. Herb Sies played a great game at Fullback on defense and Waddy Kuehl turned in fine offensive performance.

Next on the Schedule – After completely dominating the local teams and winning the Tri-City championship for the first time since 1908, the Independents announced during halftime that they had secured a game in Rock Island with the undefeated Spring Valley Miners. The game will decide the State Championship of Illinios.
